Whole Bones, Whole You

A free workshop
in honor of World Osteoporosis Day

Saturday, October 17th, 2026

9:00 to 10:30am Pacific Time Zone

Your bone density score isn't the whole story. Join me for a free workshop on the mind-body side of bone health.

This workshop is built around the whole person, not just the scan.

Most osteoporosis programming will teach you how to load your bones: reps, resistance, impact. All of that matters. But almost nothing addresses the person carrying the diagnosis, the fear that creeps in after a fracture scare, the held breath and braced shoulders that come from being told your skeleton is fragile, the way avoiding movement out of fear can end up doing more harm than the movement itself.

What you'll learn

How breath supports your spine during everyday movement — on and off the mat

Why fear of falling is its own risk factor (and what to do about it)

How to move through daily life, standing up, reaching, turning, with more confidence and less bracing

Count Me In

Hi, I'm Mary Beth

I'm a yoga therapist, holistic nutrition consultant, and doctoral student in gerontology at USC — and I've been practicing yoga for over 30 years, teaching for 17 years, and specializing in what I'm calling bone-informed yoga for the past eight.

I'm BoneFit trained, certified in Yoga vs. Osteoporosis, and an ambassador for the Bone Health and Osteoporosis Foundation.

And — I have osteopenia myself.

This work is not academic for me. It is personal. And I think you'll feel that in how I teach.

When I trained to teach yoga for osteoporosis, I watched teacher after teacher lean on physical therapy cueing instead of the yoga itself. I didn't follow that path, and my students tell me they feel more confident in their bodies, not just safer. That's mind-body work doing what a bone density number can't. I've spent thousands of hours in yoga study and practice, not two hundred hours of cueing training. The evidence I'm finding now in my doctoral research says something yoga has always known: mindset matters in aging, and our bones are always listening.
